The idea of creating a group of products geared for the Homeowner came from a personal experience. The following is a short recap of the incident which launched the concept, which is now a reality:

"My good friend Bruce, who had just retired, decided to tackle unfinished projects in his home. He's always been a "hands-on" kind of guy, and he decided to apply a do-it-yourself "Granite" Finish epoxy floor kit, purchased locally, to his garage floor. He called me for advice, and I sent him an email directing him on how to clean and prepare the surface to ensure good adhesion. He followed my advice, rented the suggested equipment, and set out on his quest. When he finished, he was quite proud of his accomplishment, and called again to gloat and thank me for the directions: "I spent less than $1 per square feet on the rentals and the materials" he said. Since professionally applied floor finishes cost a lot more, I answered: "NOT bad, and good for you..."

Soon thereafter, he called me quite agitated. He had just pulled out of the garage, and noticed chunks of the floor coating STUCK to his tires! He was audibly upset.I explained to him that it was most likely due to his tires being very hot when he parked the car, and that the product he purchased was not able to withstand the heat.Too make a long story short, he wanted HELP!

The coating was completely removed by a sub- contractor, and

I assembled a product kit to re-apply a granite-like finish. I made sure to use ONLY water borne VOC compliant products so that they could be shipped via UPS, and to make sure that Bruce would not be exposed to high solvent fumes. After a ½ dozen phone calls to make sure he was doing everything right, the floor turned out GREAT! Today, over a year later, the floor finish remains in EXCELLENT condition. The reason: we used professional grade products which seal the slab integrally, are heat resistant (the hot tire syndrome), and highly effective against accidental spills of chemicals or petroleum based products.

My friend is so pleased, he suggested that I package these professionally ONLY available products in a kit, and sell them to other Do-it-yourself Homeowners... Today we offer several easy to use turnkey kits, which include detailed installation DVDs for easy reference.
